Our Philosophy
At Payero Family Medicine, we believe in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. Our approach to healthcare is centered around the individual with a focus on prevention, wellness and patient education.
Bio
Dr Elfy Payero-Gonzalez earned her medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She completed Family Medicine residency training at Bronxcare Health System, teaching affiliate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Bronx, New York. She has worked as an attending physician in the department of Hospital Medicine at Ascension Sacred Heart in Panama City, Florida.
Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of HIV Medicine, Society of Hospital Medicine and American Medical Association. Dr Payero-Gonzalez have special interests on longevity care, preventative care, obesity, geriatrics and mental health. "I believe in treating the whole person and creating personalized care that aligns with my patients health goals. I enjoy the flexibility that primary care provides and the opportunity to create lifelong relations with my patient and families".
Outside of medicine, Dr Payero enjoys swimming in the Gulf, cooking and spending time outdoors with her family and dog.
